چکیده

Mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) is one of the most common causes emergency department visits around world. Up to 90% injuries are classified as mTBI. Cranial computed tomography (CCT) a standard diagnosis tool identify intracranial complications in adults with Alternatively, children can be admitted for inpatient observation CCT scans performed only on those clinical deterioration. The use blood biomarkers supplementary identifying patients at risk intracerebral lesions who may need imaging. The current state of biomarkers of mild traumatic brain injury.

Mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) is a common occurrence, with over 3 million cases reported every year in the United States. While research into the underlying pathophysiology is ongoing, there is an urgent need for better clinical guidelines that allow more consistent diagnosis of mTBI and ensure safe return-to-play timelines for athletes, nonathletes, and military personnel. The development...

Current State and Prospects of Development of Blood-based Biomarkers for Mild Traumatic Brain Injury

• There are many unresolved clinical problems about mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) such as a low sensitivity of standard neuroimaging studies, and absence of reliable predicting models. • It is very difficult to diagnose mTBI in symptomatic patients in the absence of witnesses, clear signs of head trauma, and abnormalities on neuroimaging. • Blood proteins have great potential as diagnostic...

MRI biomarkers in mild traumatic brain injury.

In this issue of Neurology®, Huang et al. describe a higher prevalence of cerebral microbleeds in patients with mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) in comparison to healthy controls using susceptibility-weighted MRI. They could also link these observations to neuropsychological deficits as measured by the digit span score, in comparison to patients with mTBI without microbleeds. This report alig...

Mild traumatic brain injury.

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is among the most frequent neurological disorders. Of all TBIs 90% are considered mild with an annual incidence of 100–300/100.000. Intracranial complications of Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (MTBI) are infrequent (10%), requiring neurosurgical intervention in a minority of cases (1%), but potentially life-threatening (case fatality rate 0,1%). Hence, a true health ma...
